Above: "Mikey" was Best Veteran and Best of Opposite Sex at the International KC of Chicago under Judge Michelle Billings in March of 1998.
"Clearly the star of the Kelvercrest breeding program was Country Squire. From the spring of 1993 through his semi-retirement in 1995, he was handled by Gabriel Rangel, and they made quite a team. 1994 was a banner year with an AMSC Specialty win among the 34 Bests of Breed earned that year. "Mikey" ranked the number two male in the Knight System. They continued to win well throughout 1995, adding several Group wins to the record, as well as another Specialty Best. After taking time out to gain "veteran" status, Mikey came out again briefly in 1997, winning five Bests of Breed and a Best Veteran in Sweepstakes at the Chicago AMSC Specialty. The next year he was applauded in his two Specialty wins, including the Chicago AMSC." ~ Dan Kiedrowski - "From Ruffy to Rep"
